Normcore je trend, který nás poslední dobou obklopuje čím dál, tím víc. Poprvé se tento pojem objevil v roce 2009 a 2013 ho použila skupina K-Hole, která se zabývá trendy, v dokumentu: Youth Mode: A Report on Freedom. Popisoval však postoj, ne módní styl, jehož ideou je, že se jedinec přizpůsobí situaci, ve které je a s kým je. Tento trend bývá také interpretován jako reakce na přesycení trhu s oděvy, které podléhají rychle se měnícím módním trendů.

V módním průmyslu je tento styl charakterizován skromným, nyvýrazně vyhlížejícím oblečením a jeho název je tvořen slovy "normal" a "hardcore". Tento styl nosí lidé, kteří se nechtějí odlišovat od ostatních pomocí oblečení. To však neznamená, že se nezajímají o módu a nosí to, co mají zrovna po ruce. Pěčlivě vybírají oděvy, které jsou nevýrazné, ale dávají velký důraz na viditelnost značky, kterou oblékají. Základem jsou džíny, jednoduchá trička, mikiny, džínové košile, doplněné teniskami a kšiltovkou. Praktické věci, nejlépe beztvaré a neurčitých odstínů. Vše, co může nosit 18letý i 60letý člověk, muž či žena. Žádné výstřední střihy či barvy.

Normcore is an unisex fashion trend, which surrounds us more and more. It firstly appeared in 2009 and in 2013 it was used by trend forecasting group called “K-Hole in a document: Youth Mode: A Report on Freedom". As used by K-Hole, "normcore" referred to an attitude, not a particular fashion style. In its original form it has nothing to do with clothes and more to do with personalities. Its idea is that an individual adapts to a situation of where they are and who they're with. The trend has been also interpreted as a reaction to fashion oversaturation resulting from fast-changing fashion trends.

It is characterized by average-looking clothing and its base is in the words "normal" and "hardcore". Normcore wearers are people, who do not wish to distinguish themselves from others by their clothing. This does not mean they are unfashionable people, who wear whatever comes to hand, but that they consciously choose clothes, that are undistinguished – except for a highly visible label.

Normcore clothes include pieces of casual wear such as t-shirts, hoodies, short-sleeved shirts, jeans matched with sneakers. They are practical, without particular shape or bold color, worn by men and women, making normcore a unisex style.
